As part of the activities of the TrainRail project initiated by the “Talent and Expertise Development Platform-TEDP” (Talent and Expertise Development Platform), one of the platforms of the UIC (International Union of Railways); In order to develop a cooperation network of training organizations and industrial partners, and also to attract more young talents to railway companies, it was decided to organize an international hackathon together with the WCRT 2022 (World Railway Education Congress) to be held in Russia. Teams that come first in regional hackathons to be held in 6 regions of UIC (Europe, Asia-Pacific, Africa, Russia, Latin America, Middle East) will participate in the international hackathon to be held in Russia.

The Middle East regional hackathon will be organized by MERTCe, the UIC Middle East Training Center, which operates under the TCDD Education Department.

The subject of the hackathon “How can railways be resistant to epidemics?” Respectively.

Because the Hackathon is a group event based competition, it requires teamwork. For this reason, it is essential to participate in the competition as a team, not individually. A group of designers, engineers, programmers, students and the like are expected to come together to develop new ideas, offer innovative solutions to industry problems or produce product prototypes.
