The pilot of a small plane that crashed on the railroad track in California, USA, was saved at the last moment from being run over by the oncoming train. Images taken from the body camera of the police and an eyewitness during the incident went viral.
The accident occurred in the city of Los Angeles. Trying to take off from the Pacoima area, the plane soon crashed onto the nearby train tracks. While the police who came to the scene were trying to save the pilot, it was noticed at the last moment that a train was coming fast.
In the footage shared by the Los Angeles Police Department, it is seen that the police took the pilot out of the plane by saying "Come on, come on", and seconds later, the train smashed the Cessna small plane and passed at full speed on the rails.
Images taken by 21-year-old Luis Jimenez, who was at the scene, from another angle, show the train crushing the plane and the debris flying through the air. “The plane failed to take off and crashed onto the tracks at a busy intersection,” Jimenez said. Just seconds before the collision, police officers rescued the pilot. "A piece of the wreckage hit me as well," he said.
Local media wrote that the pilot's condition is stable, and his cuts and wounds are being treated. No one was injured on the train during the accident.
