The 2022 concert season at the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Cemal Reşit Rey (CRR) Concert Hall begins with the Uğur Mumcu Cantata concert, which will take place on January 29, during the Justice and Democracy Week. In the concert, the CRR Symphony Orchestra under the conductorship of Murat Cem Orhan and the CRR Choir under the direction of Volkan Akkoç will perform Turgay Erdener's Uğur Mumcu Cantata and WA Mozart's Requiem.

The CRR Symphony Orchestra will perform the "Uğur Mumcu Cantata" composed by Turgay Erdener for the enlightened journalist-writer Uğur Mumcu, who has written his name in Turkish press history with golden letters, under the direction of the conductor Murat Cem Orhan, on Saturday, January 29, at 20.00. The texts of the cantata were created by the writer Şirin Aktemur, using the writings of Mumcu. Composed in cantata style for 4 vocalists and choir, the piece consists of 5 parts and lasts 25 minutes. In the second part of the concert, WA Mozart's last piece, Requiem, which is a death prayer and which is one of the most important works of music history, will be performed. Görkem Ezgi Yıldırım, Tuğba Mankal, Selva Erdener, Emre Akkuş will perform Erdener's work, Ayşe Şenoğul, Ezgi Karakaya, Mert Süngü and Doğukan Özkan will sing Mozart's Requiem.
