Bursa's values ​​were introduced to visitors at the 42nd FITUR Madrid Tourism Fair. The King of Spain VI, who started to accept visitors under strict health controls and opened it. The fair, attended by Felipe and his wife, Queen Letizia, attracted more attention than expected. More than 8 thousand tourism professionals from 165 different countries participated in the fair, which started with intense participation, in 11 halls in total.

Bursa Metropolitan Municipality and Bursa Culture, Tourism and Promotion Association were also among the participants of the Turkey stand organized by the Turkish Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA). The first visitors of the stand were Turkey's Madrid Ambassador Burak Akçapar and World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Secretary General Zurab Pololikashvili. Yıldırım Mayor and Bursa Culture, Tourism and Promotion Union Assembly Member Oktay Yılmaz representing Bursa, Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Foreign Relations and Tourism Department, Bursa Culture Tourism and Promotion Union participated in the fair. In the fair attended by 27 different tour operators and non-governmental organizations from Turkey, Bursa was introduced to tourism professionals with its destinations embodying different tourism alternatives.

Visit from Yılmaz to Ambassador Akçapar

Burak Akçapar, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Madrid, received the Mayor of Yıldırım and Bursa Culture, Tourism and Promotion Union Assembly Member Oktay Yılmaz and the accompanying delegation in his office. During the visit, topics such as the marketing of Bursa as a destination by Spanish tour operators and cultural and tourism experts, the promotion of Bursa in Madrid for Spanish tour operators and the info tours that can be organized for Spanish tour operators were discussed. Yıldırım Mayor and Bursa Culture, Tourism and Promotion Union Council Member Oktay Yılmaz presented a Green Tomb trinket made of Iznik tiles, one of the symbols of Bursa, to the Madrid Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey, Burak Akçapar, at the end of the meeting.

Iranian Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Ezzatollah Zarghami also visited the Bursa stand. Minister Zarghami received information from the Metropolitan Municipality Foreign Relations and Tourism Department and Bursa Culture, Tourism and Promotion Association regarding the Bursa Promotion Day event, which will take place in January with the participation of 35 different Iranian tourism professionals. During the meeting, a plaque made of Iznik tiles was presented to Minister Zarghami.

President of the European Historical Thermal Cities Network and Governor of Ourense in Spain, Jose Manuel Baltar Blanco, and EHTTA General Director Simone Zagrodnik were also the names that visited the Bursa stand. Bursa and EHTTA delegations, which discussed the works carried out for the promotion of Bursa's thermal riches, held mutual consultations for the realization of thermal investments of different scales in Bursa.
