Ankara Gendarmerie Commando Special Public Security Command (JÖAK) Underwater Search and Rescue (SAK) Teams, with 18 divers, dived in Çıldır Lake, whose surface is completely covered with ice.

The teams, which cut the ice on the surface of the lake with the help of sawmills using the triangle gallery method, dived alternately between an inlet and an exit hole with pairs of dive partners, using the line method. Within the scope of high altitude and icy water diving trainings, the teams entered the camp in Çıldır Lake between Ardahan and Kars provinces and dived into approximately 9 meters of water in the lake at an altitude of 1950 meters, where the air temperature dropped to 10 degrees below zero. divers entered the lake, where the ice thickness reached 1 centimeters.

The teams, which successfully completed many challenging missions all over the country during the year, and did not disrupt their realistic and challenging training activities at the same time, made their first dives in Çıldır in memory of the Sarıkamış Martyrs. Divers, who came out on the icy surface of Lake Çıldır, held a moment of silence in memory of Sarıkamış martyrs with a banner they opened.

The training of JÖAK teams in Çıldır will last 10 days in order to improve their skills in search and rescue of citizens lost in cold and icy waters.
