Stating that the payments have started, Minister Yanık noted that a total of 234 million 666 thousand TL will be deposited into the families' accounts this month.

Stating that the Ministry of Family and Social Services has many social services for the needy, Minister Yanık said that SED is also paid to support children.

Stating that with SED, which is a family-oriented social service model, they aim to prevent children from growing up away from their families for economic reasons, Minister Yanık said:

“With our SED service, we aim to protect the family integrity of our families in need. We care about our children's growing up as healthy individuals together with their families, by preventing them from moving away from their families and growing up in different environments due to economic reasons. With SED, families in need can meet their children's other needs, especially education. At the same time, we provide our children with the opportunity to participate in social and cultural activities. The SED amount is re-determined every year in January and July. This month, we increased the average SED amount we pay for the children of our families in need from 1259 liras to 1611 liras. In January, we will deposit a total of 234 million 666 thousand TL into the families' accounts.”

Stating that the payments will be completed by January 15, Minister Yanık stated that 142 thousand children benefited from the SED service.
