Aiming to provide comfort and safety in transportation, Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality has prepared a new traffic circulation plan for Gebze traffic. In this context, the teams affiliated to the Department of Transportation are making arrangements at the existing intersections in order to ensure a smooth traffic flow in the Gebze district. In the circulation plan project, which aims to prevent the accumulation of vehicles at the intersections where traffic density is frequent, the production works of the teams of the Science Department are continuing.
TRAFFIC DENSITY WILL DECREASE
The directions of some roads will be changed with the intersection arrangement to be carried out by the teams of the Department of Science Affairs. The traffic circulation plan, which will especially respond to the congestion at the busy intersections of Gebze, is realized at Anibal Junction, Gebze EML Junction, Arapçeşme Kavak Caddesi Junction, Gebze Old Transformer Junction, Central Hospital Junction and Gebze Hali Junction. Within the scope of the new traffic circulation plan, İlyasbey Caddesi, E-5 New Bağdat Avenue direction, New Bağdat E-5 direction via Old Bağdat Avenue, Bahar Avenue, Osman Hamdi Bey Cultural Center with the route starting with Kavşak Avenue and continuing with Yeni Bağdat and Genclik Avenues. and Doğan Street direction will be one way.
TRAFFIC FLOW IS DIVIDED IN DOĞAN AVENUE
The most comprehensive traffic circulation plan is made on Doğan Street. Accordingly, Doğan Street was divided into 3 in terms of traffic flow. New Bağdat Street, Şehit Mevlüt Duru Street and Bahar Street are planned to be one-way in the Martyr Mevlüt Duru direction (North-South). Between the intersection of İbrahimağa Street, Doğan Street and 910 street, there will be a one-way road in the direction of Gebze. The traffic coming from İbrahim Ağa Street will continue by entering Yumrukaya direction from 910 street and turning left on Doğan Street.
NEW ROUTES WILL BE APPLIED
910 street will be one way towards Doğan Caddesi. In this context, vehicles that will be diverted from Doğan Street to the left and right will be able to go in the direction of Yumrukaya and Gebze Municipality. Thus, the signalized intersection at the intersection of Doğan Street and İbrahim Ağa Street will be removed and traffic jams in the region will be prevented. On the other hand, traffic coming from Genç Caddesi will pass through Şehit Mevlüt Duru Caddesi, at the Yeni Bağdat Caddesi Vocational High School junction, to 952/4 street (in front of Gebze Medical Park Hospital Emergency Service), and one-way flow will be provided.
SOME POINTS TWO DIRECTIONS
The traffic entering Doğan Street from Yeni Bağdat Street is also diverted to Şehit Mevlüt Duru Street. In this region, the one-way road will continue to be directed directly to the left until the 914 street intersection. Martyr Mevlüt Duru Street is planned as a two-way round trip between 952/4 street and 914 street, and Yeni Bağdat Street is planned as a two-way round trip from East and West until 1201/4 street. From here on, it will be one-way until the transformer junction (New Baghdad-Kadıoğlu Intersection). Martyr Numan Street West and East directions will also be one-way and participation will be provided from 1201/4 street to Yeni Bağdat Caddesi.
