Renault Design Director Gilles Vidal describes the brand's newest C-Segment SUV model, the new Renault Austral, as "Elegant and Technological". Using the distinctive and characteristic elements of the current product range, the design teams create a high-end vehicle with modern and fine details.

Attractive and quality design

Designers focused on more muscular and pronounced shoulder lines, using key features such as body proportions, size proportions, overhangs, wheel size that attract many users to SUV models. The resulting vehicle has a strong and unique character, but still remains a part of the SUV world. With its sharp, athletic and modern design, the new Renault Austral draws attention with its body proportions and details that give a feeling of power and solidity as well as agile. The design of Renault vehicles is entering a new era. The lines running over the fenders lend a strong yet elegant line to the car's profile. The strong, dynamic lines of the Austral reflect Renault's new design language. Renault Design Director Gilles Vidal stated that Renault Austral brings together strong elements that provide a dynamic and stylish design, “Quality is felt at first glance in our new model. We have developed the flowing lines to reinforce the sense of quality on the body surface.” The new Renault Austral displays a distinctive and powerful appearance, with a clear and distinct curve running along the lower part of the body. Angled lines flowing towards the front of the vehicle give the silhouette a dynamic character. This new design approach draws attention unlike the traditional lines used before, which run statically parallel to the ground. Viewed from the side, the Austral appears to be moving and throwing forward, even when stationary.

A modern and technological SUV

Front and rear lighting units stand out as some of the technological features in the new Austral. The two large C-shaped taillights seamlessly integrate with the car's logo. The front design is similar to the eye-catching headlights and front grille. Micro-optical technology, first used in Renault Mégane E-TECH Electric, is produced from plexiglass. It features lines and patterns carved directly into the plexiglass surface. When illuminated by LED lights, the hollow lines shine crystal clear to create a vibrant and eye-catching look. This technological skill and desire for excellence forms the basis of the design of the new Renault Austral.
