With the vision of producing domestic and national technology solutions, Türk Telekom made an important cooperation with ASPİLSAN Energy on the development and commercial use of domestic lithium batteries. Developed by ASPİLSAN Energy with the support of Türk Telekom engineers, the lithium battery was first tested in Türk Telekom's live network and started to be used commercially.

Türk Telekom, Turkey's leading information and communication technologies company, continues to support projects aimed at increasing the share of domestic and national production in communication technologies. In this context, Türk Telekom collaborated with ASPİLSAN Energy, which is preparing to implement Turkey's first and only battery design and production facility, and Europe's first cylindrical lithium-ion battery production facility. The lithium battery, developed by ASPİLSAN Energy with the support of Türk Telekom engineers, was tested for the first time in Türk Telekom's live network and made commercially available.

“We break new ground in high-tech products and support domestic production”

Türk Telekom Technology Assistant General Manager Yusuf Kıraç said, “As Türk Telekom, we continue to support domestic production by breaking new ground in high-tech products. We cooperated with ASPİLSAN Energy on the productization of lithium batteries for the Telecommunication sector. We started to install and test lithium batteries developed by ASPİLSAN Energy with the support of Türk Telekom. The project; We are proud of completing the design, development and field tests together with ASPİLSAN Energy and moving to the commercial use stage. We used to import similar products from ASPİLSAN, which is the first domestic lithium battery used commercially in Türk Telekom live network. We believe that these products, which are developed and produced directly for the telecommunication sector, will make a significant contribution to the national economy.”

As ASPİLSAN Energy, General Manager of ASPİLSAN Energy, Ferhat Özsoy said: The battery sector covers a wide sector ranging from communication technologies to robotic systems to electric vehicles. As a result of our cooperation with Türk Telekom, we have produced the first domestic battery that we have developed directly for the telecommunication sector. We are proud of being able to prevent imports and reduce our foreign dependency with the batteries we have developed specifically for communication technologies. As ASPİLSAN Energy, we see this cooperation with Türk Telekom as the first step of many more successful works. This cooperation, which will make a significant contribution to the country's economy, will grow further with new batteries to be developed to be used in different types in different fields.”

The first domestic lithium battery for the telecommunications industry

The new generation lithium batteries developed by ASPİLSAN Energy directly for the telecommunication sector, which is preparing to establish Turkey's first and Europe's largest lithium-ion battery production base in Kayseri, were produced with longer life, high performance and lighter weight. The first installation of test and commercial versions of this new generation battery, which can be remotely managed, was successfully performed on the live network of Türk Telekom, Turkey's leading operator.
