Konya Karaman High Speed ​​​​Train Line Awaits the President for the Opening

An exciting wait began on the Konya-Karaman High Speed ​​​​Train Line, whose construction was completed. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will inaugurate the line, where passenger and freight transportation will be carried out together, which will reduce the travel time between the two cities from 1 hour 20 minutes to 50 minutes.

Metin Akbaş, General Manager of the Republic of Turkey State Railways (TCDD), made examinations on the Konya-Karaman High Speed ​​​​Train Line. Metin Akbaş, who reviewed the last phase of the line, was accompanied by the management staff and technical personnel. Akbaş, who reviewed the test reports of the line and evaluated the technical infrastructure and superstructure works for the last time, meticulously examined the environmental regulations, ease of access, comfort and safety of the citizens.

Stating that there is a sweet excitement in the heart of Anatolia, Akbaş said, “There are only a few days left for the happy ending. With the close follow-up of our Ministry, we bring our citizens living in Karaman together with the High Speed ​​Train. Our President's vision for the railways and we, as TCDD, are happy to finish the line by saying 'Life Begins When Reached'. I would like to thank all my colleagues who contributed and everyone who worked hard in the construction of the line.” said. TCDD General Manager Metin Akbaş, who also examined the stations between Konya and Karaman, conducted a test drive. Akbaş also paid a courtesy visit to the Governorship of Karaman and the Municipality of Karaman.

TCDD'S 165 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IS EVEN REFLECTED

The Konya-Karaman High Speed ​​​​Train Line, which has been designed in accordance with freight transportation as well as passenger transportation, will further strengthen the railway connection between the middle corridor and the south corridor of our country. The line, which will make 24 flights daily, will also revive the commercial and cultural life of the cities. It will enable faster transfer of cargo coming from Konya and Ulukışla to Mersin and İskenderun ports. While 74 bridges and culverts, 39 underpasses and overpasses, and 17 pedestrian crossings were built on the railway, the Çumra station and Karaman Station on the line were also restored, protecting the 165-year railway history.
