Supporting thousands of households in İzmir for all their basic needs, from food to shelter, from clothing to heating, the Metropolitan Municipality, on the other hand, mobilized the İzmir Solidarity, which it started during the pandemic and earthquake, for the dark winter.

Applications are being received for black winter support
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality continues to receive applications for social assistance through the Mid-Winter Support Line at 444 40 35 as well as bizizmir.com. There are six options in the “Mild Winter Support Package”: cash aid, basic food demand, clothing aid, fuel, goods, diapers and food. Citizens can choose one or more of the help topics.
More than 29 thousand food packages
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality has distributed 31 thousand 233 food packages as part of the Winter Winter Support since the beginning of November. 5 million 948 thousand lira in cash support was provided to 9 thousand 128 households. 66 hygiene packages, 2 thousand 574 packages of baby diapers, 12 thousand 66 blankets and quilts, 126 stoves, 758 electric heaters, 3 sacks of firewood and 552 tubes were also distributed. 948 pieces of clothing and 452 toys for children were given to 54 households via Bizİzmir Clothing Point and Clothing Bus serving in Üçyol.
Hot food, soup and breakfast
Hot meals for 734 thousand 171 people, food and breakfast for 26 thousand 41 people, pita for 220 thousand 152 people and soup for 51 thousand 810 people were distributed to those in need through Solidarity Points.
20 thousand boots and coats, 4 thousand 20 celiac and phenylketonuri food parcels were delivered to primary and secondary school students. 192 citizens benefited from the Turkish bath service, 135 citizens stayed in the hotel rented by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality in the Basmane region. 215 household items were given to 884 households. 45 battery powered wheelchairs, 37 manual wheelchairs, 37 patient beds and 23 patient diapers were distributed. Together with the cash aids, the cost of all these supports amounted to 340 million 56 thousand liras.
125 million lira resource
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality will make a total of 2021 million lira social assistance during the winter months covering the years 2022-125. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, Chairman of the Republican People's Party, emphasized the importance of CHP municipalities to support citizens during the winter months.

Citizens who want to join the Izmir Solidarity can go to the bizizmir.com website and buy the "Food Package" of 185 liras and the "Hygiene Package" of 65 liras in any amount they want through the People's Grocery. The Metropolitan Municipality delivers these packages to families who have applied for assistance, who really need support and whose social examination has been completed.
