IGA's Artwist Auction for the Benefit of Children with the 'From Surplus to Art' Project

Works that come to life in the Artwist project "From Surplus to Art", carried out by IGA as part of its environmental and sustainability efforts, are put up for auction in order to support foundations operating for the benefit of children. prof. The works created by Rahmi Atalay, whose final touches were made by Mrs. Emine Erdoğan and İGA - Istanbul Airport CEO Kadri Samsun​lu, will be awarded to the highest bidders, and the proceeds will be donated to KAÇUV, TESYEV and ENEV.

Inspired by the "Zero Waste Project" launched across the country under the auspices of Ms. Emine Erdoğan, the Artwist project "From Surplus to Art", IGA continues its social responsibility activities without interruption.

Anadolu University Faculty of Fine Arts Dean Prof. “Eagle-Bull-Fish” artifacts created by Rahmi Atalay were offered for sale online at an auction organized by Artam Antik A.Ş. and held by Olgaç Artam.

prof. Atalay works towards increasing the sensitivity towards waste and recycling rather than the theme of waste or recycling in his sculptures, and raising awareness about the relationship between waste and ecological problems. The texture, which dominates the works produced by the combination of many pieces, provides a three-dimensional appearance.

On Sunday, January 16, the bid process will continue until 16.00. The income from the sale of the works will be donated to the Hope Foundation for Children with Cancer (KAÇUV), the Turkish Disabled Sports and Education Foundation (TESYEV) and the Barrier-Free Education Foundation (ENEV).

As part of the 2021 Artwist “From Surplus to Art” project, the final touch of Atalay's work of Eagle was made by Ms. Emine Erdoğan, while the final touch of the work of Taurus was made by Ms. Kadri Samsunlu, CEO of IGA.

During the auction that took place during the launch in 2019, the work titled "Anadolu", which Ms. Emine Erdoğan made the final touch, was purchased by IGA CEO Samsunlu with a price offer of 500.000 TL, and the proceeds of all the works offered for sale during the auction went to Child Support Centers (ÇODEM). ) was donated.

Eagle: Prof. Kartal, the work of Rahmi Atalay made of wood, represents the air layer. The final touch of the Eagle work was carried out by Ms. Emine Erdogan at Ankara Cer Modern on December 16, 2021, and the work was completed with the last touch of the lady. All proceeds of this work will be donated to the Hope Foundation for Children with Cancer (KAÇUV).

Taurus: Prof. The Bull, the work of Rahmi Atalay made of wood, represents the black layer. The final touch of the work of Taurus was carried out by IGA CEO Mr. Kadri Samsunlu on December 16, 2021 at Ankara Cer Modern and the work was completed with the final touch of Kadri Samsunlu. All proceeds of this work will be donated to the Turkish Disabled Sports and Education Foundation (TESYEV).

Fish: Prof. Fish, the work of Rahmi Atalay made of wood, represents the sea layer. All proceeds of this work will be donated to the Foundation for Education Without Barriers (ENEV).
