Hyundai Motor Company made a tight start to 2022 by winning brand new awards. Finally, the IONIQ 5 and STARIA models, which won the awards given by Good Design in the transportation category, reveal Hyundai's expertise in the field of design and its rapidly rising graphic. Apart from design, the models that have won a total of five categories: interactive media, home and mobile applications, and graphic design, also bring the brand's competitive power in global markets to the top.
Celebrating its 71st anniversary this year, the Good Design Awards are recognized as one of the oldest design and research organizations in the world. Evaluating the usefulness and designs of the new products offered for sale, the expert jury members selected the Parametric Design and lines used by Hyundai in its new models as the most elegant drawings and determined it as the first in their categories.
SangYup Lee, Vice President and President of Hyundai Global Design Center, regarding these awards; “It is a great honor for us to be recognized by GOOD Design for our new tools and innovations. This honor belongs to the outstanding work of our design team and R&D center engineers, who put their passion and heart into this project. It also best reflects the impact of Hyundai's design identity on people.”
Standing out with its all-electric structure and extraordinarily spacious interior, the IONIQ 5 can be chosen with two different options, 58 kWh or 72,6 kWh. The innovative car is also offered with two different drive systems, four-wheel or rear-wheel drive. The rear-wheel drive and 72,6 kWh version has a maximum driving range of 481 kilometers on a single charge, according to WLTP. The IONIQ 5 also stands out with its powerful performance and ultra-fast charging.
With these two new models, which will be offered for sale in Turkey in the near future, Hyundai offers special solutions for both families and commercial enterprises. Being a very important model in terms of mobility, STARIA brings a different perspective to the MPV class with its high-level design elements.
