Aksu Aral Railway Line Put into Service in China Uyghur Autonomous Region

Aksu-Aral railway line in China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region has been put into service. Thus, railway connection was established between Avat district and Aral city for the first time. The total length of the Aksu-Aral railway line, the construction of which started in April 2020, is 114,6 kilometers, and the design speed of the railway is 120 kilometers per hour. Four stations along the railway have electrification conditions.

A sand control system was also installed along the railway to address the dangers of sandstorms along the line. In this way, on the one hand, the safety of railway transportation was guaranteed, on the other hand, the harmony and coordination of civil engineering with the natural and social environment was ensured.

Before the line was established, products were taken to Aksu by road vehicles and loaded onto trains. Goods can now be shipped directly by trains in the Aral. Thus, both cargo efficiency will be increased and transportation costs will decrease.
