Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç visited the Erciyes University (ERÜ) Vaccine Research and Development Center, the pride of Kayseri and Turkey, where the Turkovac vaccine, which was approved for immediate use, was developed and received information about the studies. President Büyükkılıç visited Erciyes University Vaccine Research and Development Center, which made the Turkovac vaccine available, by carrying out its work with great devotion for the vaccine, which is the first priority of the world during the Kovid-19 period. During the visit, President Büyükkılıç, Erciyes University Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Çalış and Erciyes University Vaccine Research and Development Application and Research Center Director and Faculty of Medicine Faculty of Medicine Department of Medical Microbiology Prof. Dr. Aykut Özdarendeli accompanied him.

Making statements after the visit, the Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality, Dr. Emphasizing that they experience the joy of being a local and national manufacturer and trusting the Turkish vaccine, Memduh Büyükkılıç said, “We are delighted and proud that the vaccine is released within the Faculty of Medicine of our Erciyes University in this beautiful city, which has 5 universities and 2 active Faculty of Medicine. First of all, we offer our congratulations. A study befitting a research university. We hope for more and we believe in our university.”
Wishing them to make new discoveries in the works to be carried out in the new period, President Büyükkılıç continued his words as follows:
“As local administrators, we would like to express that we will always continue to support ourselves to do whatever we have to do, to serve today, as always, and to serve tomorrow, if God permits. During the meetings in Ankara yesterday, they stated that they would give all kinds of support regarding the investments to be made here. Of course it made us happy. We all experience the joy of being a local and national producer and trusting the Turkish vaccine. We say that you may be alive, you may exist. Congratulations. We wish you continued success.”

Providing information to Büyükkılıç about the vaccine studies, Erciyes University Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Çalış said, “As you know, emergency use has been taken, which made us very happy as Erciyes University and as the people of Kayseri. It is a very, very proud situation that our Turkovac vaccine came out of Kayseri Erciyes University. There is a great deal of trust in our Turkovac vaccine. Erciyes University Vaccine Research and Development Application and Research Center Director and Faculty of Medicine Department of Medical Microbiology Professor. Dr. Aykut Özdarendeli also stated that it was not the first visit of President Büyükkılıç to the center, but that he visited the center and the university several times, and thanked President Büyükkılıç for his support and motivation on the subject.
