Bursa Irgandı Bridge Moved to the Curtain of Dreams

Bursa Irgandı Bridge, which was built in 4 and is one of the 1442 bridges in the world with a bazaar on it, has been moved to the curtain of dreams. The premiere of the play 'Karagöz's Irgandı Butler' was held at the Karagöz Museum of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality.

The Intangible Cultural Heritage Carrier, Hayali Tayfun Özeren from Bursa, staged the play 'Karagöz's Irgandı Steward', which he wrote to keep alive the traditional Turkish shadow play Karagöz-Hacivat, which is on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List of Humanity, at the Karagöz Museum. . In the play, Irgandı Bridge, one of the monumental works of Bursa and one of the 4 bridges in the world with a bazaar on it, has also been moved to the curtain of dreams. Bringing together the tangible and intangible values ​​of Bursa with the audience in the veil of imagination, Özeren tells the story of what happened when Hacı Muslihiddin, who built the bridge about six centuries ago, commissioned Hacivat to rent the shops on the bridge and Hacivat hired Karagöz as the butler. conveyed the process through the curtain of imagination. Adults as well as children watched the game, which lasted about 40 minutes, with great admiration.

Hayali Tayfun Özeren stated that they are constantly writing new plays in order to preserve the shadow play cultural heritage and pass it on to future generations, and that they expect all art lovers from 7 to 70 years old to attend the Karagöz Museum, “Today, children spend most of their time on the internet. However, shadow play is very important for child development. Children see Karagöz and Hacivat as heroes for themselves. Their imagination is developing, they often accompany the plays from behind the curtain. Our Karagöz museum is already the only one in Turkey. We are constantly writing new plays and explaining this value to both Bursa residents and foreign tourists in the best way possible. We welcome all art lovers to our new games.”
