Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, which continues to broadcast the goods and service procurement tenders live on its social media accounts with a transparent municipal understanding, entered into a tender for the purchase of 2022 electric and manual wheelchairs to be distributed to disabled citizens receiving social assistance in 220. In the tender for the "Battery Wheelchair and Manual Wheelchair Purchase Business" organized by the Social Services Department, a 43 percent rate of crime was experienced.
Social media accounts for procurement of goods and services, Youtube Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, which continues to broadcast live on its channel and ABB TV, also gives priority to tenders to meet the demands and needs of citizens.
In this context, the Social Services Department held a tender for the "Purchase of Battery Powered Wheelchairs and Manual Wheelchairs" to be distributed to disabled citizens receiving social assistance in 2022.
HIGH CRIMINAL IN TENDER
The Metropolitan Municipality, which has signed various projects in order to facilitate the life of disabled people, went out to tender on January 3, 2022 for the purchase of battery powered and wheelchairs due to high demand.
The approximate cost of the tender, in which 4 companies participated, was 1 million 597 thousand 833 TL, while the lowest bid was 914 thousand 300 TL. There was a 43 percent crime rate in the tender for the purchase of wheelchairs.
NUMBER INCREASED DUE TO HIGH DEMAND
The Department of Social Services, which purchased 2020 wheelchairs in the tender held in 120, increased this number to 2022 in 100, upon high demand from disabled citizens.
With the resulting tender, a total of 50 wheelchairs, 170 of which are battery powered and 220 are manual, will begin to be distributed to individuals with a 40% disability report.
FREE MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR CONTINUES
Aiming to enable disabled people to be more involved in social life, the Metropolitan Municipality also provides free of charge maintenance and repair services for wheelchairs for disabled citizens using electric and manual wheelchairs.
Families receiving social assistance should apply by calling “(0312) 507 10 01” for repair requests as well as wheelchair requests.
