Test and Training Ship TCG UFUK (A-591), of which STM is the main contractor, started its duty with the ceremony held with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Under the leadership of the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB), STM Defense Technologies and Engineering Inc., which plays an important role in Turkey's defense industry and national technology move, has successfully completed the Test and Training Ship Project, which will contribute greatly to our country's operational power in the seas. .

Test and Training Ship TCG UFUK (A-591), which started to work under the main contractorship of STM with the contract signed between SSB and STM, was put into service with a ceremony held on January 14, 2022.

To the ceremony held at Istanbul Maritime Shipyard in Tuzla, Istanbul; TC Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar, Chief of General Staff Gen. Yaşar Güler, Presidency of Defense Industry President Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir, STM General Manager Özgür Güleryüz and guests attended.

70% Domestic Rate in TCG UFUK

With the contract signed between SSB and STM on 30 December 2016, work on the Test and Training Ship Project started on 31 March 2017. Following the completion of the construction works at Istanbul Maritime Shipyard, TCG UFUK was launched with a ceremony on February 9, 2019.

TCG UFUK, designed using the MİLGEM Island Class Corvette hull form, will be able to cruise uninterruptedly for 60 days, including international waters, under severe climatic and sea conditions.

The locality rate of TCG UFUK, to which approximately 194 domestic companies contributed, reached the level of 70 percent. TCG UFUK Ship, which has a personnel capacity of 110 people; It has a full length of 99,5 meters, a maximum width of 14,4 meters, a displacement of 2 thousand 250 tons and a platform for a 10-ton helicopter.
