The Special Consumption Tax (SCT) on alcohol and cigarettes has increased. The increase in SCT was 47 percent. The specific tax on cigarettes, which was 0,4851 TL per pack, was increased to 0,7150 TL. While the minimum specific tax from 9,766 TL per package increased to 14,394 TL, this increase increased the minimum specific tax limit price from 15,50 TL to 22,85 TL per package. The relevant SCT list, updated according to the Domestic Producer Price Index (D-PPI), was published on the website of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance Revenue Administration (GİB).
Accordingly, the minimum specific SCT amount of alcoholic beverages and tobacco products was increased by 6 percent, which is the 47,4-month D-PPI. There was a similar increase in the fixed tax amounts of cigarettes and tobacco products.
With this update, cigarette prices will increase between 3 and 5 TL.
FIRST TIME AT PHILIP MORRIS GROUP
Özgür Aybaş, President of Turkish Monopoly Dealers Platform, announced that Philip Morris group cigarettes have increased by 4 TL with a post on his social media account.
According to Aybaş's share, the cheapest cigarette in the cigarette group in question rose to 21,50 TL and the most expensive cigarette to 25,50 TL.
