In Bursa, which was selected as the 2022 Turkish World Cultural Capital by the International Organization of Turkish Culture, the activities to be held to promote Turkish culture throughout the year started with an enthusiastic gala concert. The performances of folk dance teams, performed by vocal and instrumental artists from TÜRKSOY member countries, turned into a visual feast in Bursa.

In the 38th Term Meeting of the Permanent Council of Culture Ministers of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TÜRKSOY), which works to transfer the common Turkish culture, language, history, art, traditions and customs to future generations by establishing friendly relations between Turkic speaking peoples and countries, the '2022 In Bursa, which was chosen as the 'Cultural Capital of the Turkish World', the activities started with a visual feast. Bursa, which was established in 1993 with the agreement signed by the culture ministers of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Turkey, is the 10th city designated as the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World by TURKSOY, and hosted the music and dances of the Turkic world. Gala concert held at Merinos Atatürk Congress and Culture Center (Merinos AKKM); Bursa Governor Yakup Canbolat, Metropolitan Mayor Alinur Aktaş, TURKSOY Secretary General Dusen Kaseinov, Kazakhstan's Ambassador to Ankara Abzal Saparbekuly, Bursa deputies, district mayors and many guests attended.

Bursa gate opens to the future

Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality, Alinur Aktaş, who hosted the gala, said that they were happy to embrace the guests from their ancestral lands as the Cultural Capital of the Turkish World. Expressing that they will organize many events worthy of Bursa throughout the year, President Aktaş said, “We will have many national and international events in a wide range from congresses and seminars to concerts and festivals, from cinema, theater and exhibitions to interviews. We are opening very important doors together, as in our 2022 Turkish World Culture Capital Bursa logo, which we prepared with the inspiration we get from our values ​​extending from the past to the future, our ancient history, our commitment to our roots, our color that identifies with us, our innovative stance, eternity and our strength arising from unity. This door opens to history, this door opens to the future, this door opens to culture and art. This door opens to the industry and business world, this door opens to our knowledge and values. This door opens to the Silk Road, trade and tourism. This door opens to the unity and solidarity of the Turkish world and the strengthening of the spirit of cooperation and solidarity. I wish our union to be strong and permanent.”

The gala events, which started with the Mehter concert and the sword shield show, presented a visual feast to the guests with the stage decoration specially prepared for the night. In addition to the performances of vocal and instrumental artists from TÜRKSOY member countries, folk dance performances were followed with admiration.

In the colorful night, the anthem composed for 2022 Turkish World Culture Capital Bursa was presented to the guests.
