Statement from the Turkish Space Agency on the Budget of the National Space Program

The Turkish Space Agency (TUA) reported that the information in some media today that the “2022 budget of the National Space Program is 20 thousand liras” does not reflect the truth in any way.

The Turkish Space Agency (TUA) made a statement regarding the claims in some press and media organs as "Giant budget for the National Space Program: 20 thousand liras".

In the statement, it was stated that 15 thousand liras, which was envisaged for the 2022st phase of the National Space Program in the 31720 Investment Program published in the Official Gazette dated January 2022, 1 with the repetitive number 20, was determined as "trace cost" in order to be able to monitor the project in the investment program, and that a similar cost in 2021 was determined. Similarly, it was stated that, following the allocation of 1 billion 890 million liras to the Agency for two important projects, 270 million liras were transferred to the relevant institutions.

Pointing out that the state is able to provide the resources needed for space projects of great strategic importance, the statement said: "While the amount included in the investment program related to TUA for 2022 has been approved, to remind those who do perception management through the articles related to budget techniques, the basic principles of journalism. we want. While the truth is obvious, we strongly condemn this approach of guided journalism aimed at creating perception and defaming the 'National Space Program', one of our country's most valuable projects for the future. We refer to the conscience of our nation those who try to cast a shadow over Turkey's space efforts by manipulating the Turkish public with such an agenda. TUA will continue to carry out all necessary efforts with effort and devotion so that Turkey can reach the place it deserves in the space league.”
