“Izmir difference”

Stating that they held a meeting with such a wide participation for the first time in a district, Mayor Soyer said, “This is why this meeting is so valuable. Çiğli is truly a place that is the apple of our eye. There is a lot of work we want to do in Çiğli. These are the things we are very excited about. Glad you took the time and we got together today. This is the difference of Izmir," he said.

“Hundreds of boats will do tours to see flamingos”

President Soyer, who also gave information about the official candidacy application process for the Gediz Delta to be included in the UNESCO World Natural Heritage List, said, “This area is a place that will attract the attention of people from all over the world. There are agencies that pay the world money to see places like this, and take the trouble to make tourism. We will carry out studies that will introduce this field to the world. Thus, Çiğli, İzmir and Turkey will get the share they deserve from tourism.”

“Thanks to Chairman Soyer”

Çiğli Mayor Utku Gümrükçü said, “We, as Çiğli City Council and Çiğli Municipality, are hosting an important meeting here today. We have completed 2 and a half years. We are doing a lot of work to change the future of Çiğli. We want to give this city its right, what it deserves. There are many services rendered. I would like to thank the Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality," he said.

“Excavated areas will be closed quickly”

Stating that they will do a quick work on the arrangement of the roads excavated due to the infrastructure works carried out by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, Mayor Soyer said, “That's why we took a decision. We stop production until the end of February. We give priority to the closure of how many channels and pits that have been opened. We are starting new excavations as of the end of February,” he said.

“We will finish the tram line in İzmir's centennial year”

Emphasizing the importance of Çiğli Tram, which is under construction, Mayor Soyer said, “We also bought our wagons. We will finish our tram line in Izmir's centennial year. The tram will bring Çiğli together with the sea and the coast. This is one of the results that excite us in the tram project.”

“As soon as we build the facilities in Menderes and Peninsula, Çiğli's garbage problem will end”

Stating that they use the garbage as raw material and produce electricity and fertilizer with the Harmandalı Regular Waste Storage Facility, Ödemiş and Bergama Integrated Solid Waste management facilities, Mayor Soyer said, “However, these are not enough. We need to implement these facilities in Menderes and Peninsula. As soon as we build these facilities, the garbage problem of Harmandalı will be over. We transport garbage from Karaburun to Harmandalı. Its diesel, its workers, everything is a heavy cost. We will reduce the cost of this. Çiğli will be freed from carrying all the burden of İzmir alone. Naturally, our citizens do not want to see garbage in their districts. So what are we going to do? We have done and finished the studies where the most suitable places are scientifically. We no longer have hesitation. We can't have a problem like rewarding or punishing someone more. The solutions we found are the right solutions. But we also need your support," he said.

“No municipality anywhere in Turkey does this”

Stating that they have accelerated their urban transformation projects for the last two years, Mayor Soyer also gave the following information about the Güzeltepe Urban Transformation Project:

“Urban transformation is going in a healthier way in Izmir than anywhere else in Turkey. It is going with a solution strategy in favor of the people and the citizens. There is no municipality anywhere in Turkey between the citizen and the contractor. It is in Izmir. In İzmir, the municipality has established a system in order not to give the rights of the citizens to the contractor. It's a very healthy system. We want the citizens to trust the municipality and speed up the process. We have included a 30-decare title deed area of Güzeltepe within the urban transformation area. We transferred. Without expecting anything. We did this for the benefit of our citizens. No municipality anywhere in Turkey does this, let me be frank. We have accelerated the urban transformation in the last 2 years. The solution to this was to activate our İZBETON company. We will accelerate this urban transformation issue, but we need your support. We want to start the construction of the urban transformation project in Çiğli Güzeltepe, by completing the reconciliations with our citizens this year. Be sure of one thing, we carry great goodwill and hope. There is a lot of work we can do. As long as we cooperate, let's cooperate.”
