More than 263 data were received worldwide in 5 days from Turkey's first pocket satellite, Grizu-900A. The signals from the satellite are recorded as audio files in the ground monitoring station. Then, this audio file is converted to digital format and meaningful data is tried to be obtained.
The pocket satellite was designed by the Grizu-263A Space Team, which consists of the students of the Faculty of Engineering of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University. He went on a space journey with the names of the miners who lost their lives in the firedamp explosion in Zonguldak on March 3, 1992.
The signals coming from the satellite are recorded as audio files at the ground monitoring station established at the university. Then, this audio file is converted to digital format and meaningful data is tried to be obtained.
Grizu-263A is capable of performing some basic functions with telecommand in order to test bidirectional communication with the ground station. The satellite is planned to operate for 525 years and 4 months in a 8-kilometer low earth orbit.
