New target, 6,6 books per student

When the target of 2022 million books is reached by the end of 100, the number of students per student in school libraries in Turkey will have increased to 6,6. Making an assessment on the subject, Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer stated that one of the areas they focused on in order to increase equality of opportunity in education was to reduce the differences in opportunities between schools and drew attention to the fact that the project "There will be no school without a library", which was carried out under the auspices of Emine Erdoğan, was completed in a short period of two months. Emphasizing that there is no school without a library, Özer said:

“With this project, the number of books in our schools has increased significantly. With the new libraries we built, the number of books in the libraries increased to 41 million 770 thousand 132. With this project, the number of books per student in the libraries in our schools rose from 1,89 to 2,76 in two months. We aim to increase the number of our books to 2022 million by 100. Thus, the number of books per student will have increased to 6,6. I congratulate all my colleagues who successfully carried out the process, our national education directors, district directors, school administrators and teachers in our 81 provinces.”
