He Wants Beylikdüzü Metro

Beylikdüzü Mayor Mehmet Murat Çalık shared a video about the İncirli - Sefaköy - Beylikdüzü metro line, which made a lot of noise on social media and was watched by hundreds of thousands of people. Underlining that the aforementioned metro line is of vital importance for at least 3.5 million Istanbulites, Çalık said, “The 6 districts where the metro will pass are municipalities managed by the mayors of the Republican People's Party. But with this attitude, the government punishes not the CHP municipalities, but the citizens of Istanbul. The public transportation right of hundreds of thousands of Beylikdüzü and millions of Istanbul residents cannot be condemned to a signature.” he said.

Beylikdüzü Mayor Mehmet Murat Çalık made statements on the fact that the İncirli - Sefaköy - Beylikdüzü metro line was not included in the Presidential 2022 investment program. Stating that the people of Beylikdüzü have been waiting for the metro for years, but the project was not implemented despite repeated promises, Mayor Çalık said, “As soon as Ekrem President took office, his first job was to revive the metro lines, which were stopped and held in various parts of Istanbul due to lack of foresight. The project of the metro that will come to Beylikdüzü is ready, there are no obstacles in front of the construction of the metro that is ready for financing. Come and see that we have been waiting for signatures for the metro, which is ready for everything, for almost 1 year. That signature is never given. IMM's application is ignored for 311 days; When the issue is reflected to the public, it is said that 'document is missing'. Now I am asking you, is it IMM that is ignored here, or is it the people of Istanbul?” used the phrases.

“The right to public transport cannot be condemned to a signature”

Underlining that the İncirli-Sefaköy-Beylikdüzü metro line is of vital importance for at least 3.5 million Istanbul residents, Çalık said, “The 6 districts where the metro will pass are municipalities managed by the mayors of the Republican People's Party. But with this attitude, the government punishes not the CHP municipalities, but the citizens of Istanbul. The public transportation right of hundreds of thousands of Beylikdüzü and millions of Istanbul residents cannot be condemned to a signature. The metro cannot be blocked just because political points will be lost. Especially at a time like this when we are grappling with the economic crisis and when our people need public service the most. I declare here: I will defend the metro right of Beylikdüzü, of our people living in this region, of Istanbulites, together with our President, Ekrem.” he said. While President Çalık's statements resonated with the public, he received many messages of support.
