Speaking at the Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Council, Mayor Mustafa Demir said, “We are in talks with TEMSA about 15 buses that run on lithium batteries with a service life of 15 years, can be recharged in 7 minutes, have an operating cost of 1 in 10 compared to fossil fuels, and a high passenger carrying capacity. With the coordination of ASELSAN, we plan to increase this number to 20 due to TEKNOFEST”.

The closing meeting of the Metropolitan Municipality Council for January was held today. 61 items were discussed in the assembly chaired by Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Demir. Chairman Mustafa Demir informed the council members about the developments regarding investments and projects.

Expressing that a new era will begin in Samsun with the electric bus project in public transportation, Metropolitan Mayor Mustafa Demir emphasized that the project is a first in Turkey with its lithium battery and ultra-charging system. Stating that they aim to put the buses into service in May, President Demir said, “We are in talks with TEMSA about 15 buses that run on lithium batteries with a service life of 15 years, can be charged in 7 minutes, have an operating cost of 1 in 10 compared to fossil fuels and a high passenger carrying capacity. With the coordination of ASELSAN, we plan to increase this number to 20 due to TEKNOFEST. We will put the buses on the route from the 19 Mayıs district to the airport. We are also creating a ring line in the city. In the future, we plan to put these buses on the city hospital line. We will rehabilitate all transportation in Samsun in the future with this system by looking at the quarterly data on issues such as operating cost, capacity and efficiency.”

Expressing that they do not tender their road investments to private companies, President Demir said:

THE MOST STRONG CONCRETE IS POSTING ON THE ROAD TO Liberation

“We do all the construction works such as surface coating and concrete road with our own teams. We do not bid. We have a 300-kilometer C30 quality ferrous concrete road program ahead of us. We are removing the concrete road on Kurtuluş Yolu, which was broken before, and reconstructing a reinforced concrete road of C30 quality. Due to TEKNOFEST, we will make very serious productions at the airport. Again, we will enter the superstructures in Atakum, İlkadım, Canik and Tekkeköy in industry, and in İncesu, Çatalçam, Altınkum and Taflan. Our work continues on the way to Terme, Çarşamba Kızılot. We will also purchase pipes related to SASKİ. Around 80-100 million. We will lay the pipes with our own teams. ”

ENERGY COSTS ARE NEARLY RESETTING

Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Demir said, “We have a responsibility to be the exemplary municipality that makes the best use of information and technology” and said, “Using technology in all areas, including smart city applications, significantly reduces our costs. We are currently transitioning to Geographic Information Systems. It will be an important agenda item for all our district municipalities to pass. Together, as the Metropolitan Municipality, we stand by all our district municipalities. With the GES and WPP projects, 150 million lira will be generated for the municipality each year. We are almost zeroing all of our energy costs,” he said.
