9th Hearing for Çorlu Train Accident Held Today

The 25th hearing of the lawsuit filed regarding the train accident in which 328 people died and 9 people were injured in the Çorlu district of Tekirdağ has begun. Zehra Bilgin, who lost her daughter Bihter Bilgin, her sisters Emel Duman and Derya Kurtuluş and her niece Beren in the accident, thanked those who supported them in the statement she made before the hearing. Bilgin said, “I sacrificed my son Bihter, my brothers Derya, Emel and my nephew Beren to negligence, but I will not sacrifice them to this justice. I will seek their justice to the end. No one will be protected, the real responsible will be prosecuted. These will come, no one will be spared. Justice will be served. Justice will go under the rails. No one will shut up,” she said.

LAWYERS CANNOT PARTICIPATE, HEALING DELAYED

Lawyers could not attend the 25th hearing of the lawsuit filed regarding the train accident in the Çorlu district of Tekirdağ, in which 328 people died and 9 people were injured, due to the bad weather in Istanbul. The hearing, which most of the families could not attend, was postponed to 25 May 2022. The court also decided to wait for the missing documents in the file.
