According to the data of the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), housing sales in İzmir decreased by 2021% in 7,2 compared to the previous year and amounted to 86 thousand 722. Istanbul had the highest share in house sales with 276 thousand 223 houses and 18,5%. Istanbul was followed by Ankara with 144 thousand 104 house sales and 9,7% share, and İzmir with 86 thousand 722 house sales and 5,8% share. The provinces with the lowest number of house sales were Hakkari with 267 houses, Ardahan with 377 houses and Bayburt with 871 houses, respectively.

13 thousand 386 houses were sold in Izmir in December

Housing sales in İzmir increased by 131,0% in December compared to the same month of the previous year and became 13 thousand 386. Istanbul had the highest share in house sales with 39 thousand 26 houses and 17,2%. Istanbul was followed by Ankara with 21 thousand 481 house sales and 9,5% share, and İzmir with 13 thousand 386 house sales and 5,9% share. Hakkari was the province with the lowest house sales with 44 houses.

3 thousand 666 houses were sold for the first time in Izmir

The number of houses sold for the first time in İzmir increased by 104,9% compared to the same month of the previous year and became 3 thousand 666. The share of the first sale in total house sales was 27,4%.

In the January-December period, first-hand house sales decreased by 15,7% compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to 23 thousand 216. In 2021, the share of first-hand sales in total housing sales was 26,8%.

9 thousand 720 houses changed hands in Izmir

Second hand house sales in İzmir increased by 142,7% compared to the same month of the previous year and became 9 thousand 720. The share of second-hand house sales in total house sales was 72,6%.

Second-hand house sales decreased by 3,7% in the January-December period compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to 63 thousand 506. In 2021, the share of second-hand sales in total housing sales in İzmir was 73,2%.

Mortgage housing sales in İzmir amounted to 3 thousand 14

Mortgaged house sales in İzmir increased by 191,2% compared to the same month of the previous year and became 3 thousand 14. 22,5% of the houses sold in December were mortgaged sales. First sales accounted for 22,7% of mortgaged sales and second hand sales for 77,3%.

Mortgaged house sales in the January-December period, on the other hand, decreased by 51,9% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 19 thousand 570. In 2021, the share of mortgaged sales in total house sales was 22,6%.

Buca ranks first in house sales

In the districts with a population of more than 150 thousand and a high number of housing sales, the highest number of housing sales in İzmir was realized in Buca in December 2021. While 2021 houses were sold in Buca in December 547, Buca was followed by 378 house sales. Karşıyaka, Menemen with the sales of 57 houses, Karabağlar with the sales of 42 houses, Torbalı with the sales of 998 houses, Çiğli with the sales of 944 houses, Konak with the sales of 931 houses, Bornova with the sales of 886 houses and 554 houses Bayraklı followed.
