Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay stated that they attach great importance to the transfer of the culture of “Shivliness”, which is a tradition unique to Konya and heralds the arrival of the blessed three months, to the next generations.
Mayor Altay said, “Shivliness days are one of the symbol days of our Konya, where our unity and solidarity are consolidated. The absence of another example of such a tradition for children in our country and in the world reveals the importance of our city's ancient culture. We are also happy to take advantage of this special day that warms our hearts in cold winter days and make our puppies smile. In this context, as last year, we started working to send gifts of chivliness to the children of Konya this year as well. Inshallah, we will send the gifts of chivliness to the first 100 thousand children whose applications we will start to receive online on Tuesday evening. We are doing our best to keep this beautiful tradition alive.” said.
The first 1 children between the ages of 20.00-5 (born in 10-2012), who will apply through the address “sivlilik.konya.bel.tr” on Tuesday, February 2017, at 100, will be entitled to receive the şivlilik gift box. Gift boxes will be sent by cargo to the first 100 thousand children in the application.
