1.5 Billion Dollar Contract Between TAI and Spirit AeroSystems

Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) General Manager Prof. Dr. Temel Kotil shared a new year greeting message for company employees

In his congratulatory message, Temel Kotil made a performance evaluation of 2022 as well as TAI's 2021 targets. In this context, Kotil also gave information about the contracts signed with Spirit AeroSystems, which was reflected in the press in September 2021. Kotil announced that the signed contracts have a value of over $1.5 billion. Within the scope of the aforementioned contracts, TAI will manufacture and deliver Part 737 – “Tail Feather” for the Boeing 8 MAX-48 and more than 400 detail parts and sub-assembly components for various Boeing platforms.

Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) signed two more contracts with Spirit AeroSystems. TAI will manufacture and deliver more than 737 sub-assembly components for Boeing's new generation air platform 8 Max-48, which will be used in Part 737 – “Tail Feather” as well as 767, 777, 787 and 400 aircraft. TUSAŞ, which will start part 48 deliveries in 2023, aims to start production and deliveries in 2024 for its other work package, detail parts and sub-assembly components. TAI will be responsible for all production stages and will produce and deliver sets of 25 aircraft per month. In addition to the contracts, work packages with Spirit AeroSystems for the production and delivery of 737 detail parts subassembly components for various platforms, including the 747, 777 and 2125, have also been extended through 2028.

Speaking about the collaborations, TAI General Manager Prof. Dr. In his speech, Temel Kotil said, “While we continue to produce domestic and national projects in the field of aviation sector in our country, we also carry out high-quality critical productions for the world's leading air platform manufacturers. We are pleased with the agreement with Spirit AeroSystems that includes the Boeing B737 MAX-8 Part 48 – Tail and various other subassembly work packages. I congratulate all my colleagues and Spirit AeroSystems officials who contributed to the realization of the collaboration.”
