Turkish Aerospace Industries and Kuala Lumpur University signed a cooperation agreement with the Malaysian Aviation Technologies Institute to develop research programs on technical and applied aviation education.
With the mutual human resources and academician development programs to be carried out within the framework of the cooperation agreement signed at the University's Subang Campus, studies will be carried out to improve the talent pool in Malaysia's aviation industry and air power in general. With the signed agreement, cooperation will be ensured in the design, engineering, production, system integration, repair and maintenance (MRO) processes of aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles to be realized within the scope of Malaysia Aviation Industry 2030 Projects.
Commenting on the cooperation agreement with Kuala Lumpur University, Turkish Aerospace Industries General Manager Prof. Dr. Temel Kotil said in his statement, “We are very happy to strengthen Malaysia's aviation ecosystem with the aviation training programs to be created for Malaysia within the scope of our company's cooperation with UniKL MIAT. Malaysia is located in the geography of the world's fastest developing countries in aviation. This agreement will not only contribute to Malaysia's leadership in aviation in the region, but will also enable it to meet the demands in this field with a high-quality workforce.”
Dr. Mohd Hafizi Shamsudin, Dean of Kuala Lumpur University Malaysia Aviation Technologies Institute, said, “We are pleased to expand our relations with the Turkish Aerospace Industry. The “University – Industry” collaboration will be beneficial for aviation graduates and the future of the Malaysian aviation industry. In this context, we support this cooperation within the scope of studies to be carried out in the field of aviation design, engineering, production, system integration and repair-maintenance at the Industrial Excellence Center that we want to establish within the university.”
