Renewed ILGAR Electronic Warfare System Delivery to TAF

President of the Turkish Presidency of Defense Industry Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir announced on his social media account that the new deliveries of the renewed ILGAR Muhabere Electronic Warfare Systems were made to the TAF. Demir said in his statement, “We made the new deliveries of the renewed ILGAR to the Turkish Armed Forces. ILGAR Combat Electronic Warfare Systems, which we have developed for Electronic Attack and which has national software and hardware infrastructure, provides a great advantage to our security forces in the tactical field.” made statements.

It can be seen in the shared video that ILGAR, developed by ASELSAN as a mobile system, is carried on a 4×4 Armored Cabin TTA (Tactical Wheeled Vehicle) developed by BMC.

At the beginning of December 2021, a 700 million lira and 85 million dollar electronic warfare project contract was signed between ASELSAN and the Turkish Defense Industry Presidency. The cost of the contract signed with the current dollar rate (1 USD = 13.66 Turkish Liras) is 1 billion 861 million Turkish Liras. In the PDP (Public Disclosure Platform) notification made by ASELSAN,

“An electronic warfare project contract has been signed between ASELSAN and the Presidency of Defense Industries for a total of 700.000.000 TL and 85.000.000 USD. Within the scope of the said contract, deliveries will take place between 2024 and 2026. statements were included. Information on the scope of the electronic warfare project was not provided.

İsmail Demir was the guest of TRT Haber live broadcast on September 6, 2021. Answering the questions asked to him in the live broadcast, Demir also mentioned electronic warfare systems during his speech. Demir said, “You have to be unstoppable in the operational environment. Your communication must be unbreakable. You have to be able to pinpoint reaching hostile goals.” He stated that all possible technological studies were carried out in the field in question.
