Special Children Take a Fairytale Journey with the Barrier-Free Train

Due to the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on 3 December, a Train Trip for Disabled Children was organized within the scope of the "Barrier-Free Train" Project carried out by the Governorship of Erzincan.

33 special children went on a day trip with their families to Kemah and İliç districts of Erzincan by train starting from Erzincan Train Station.

Before starting the journey, the disabled children, who had fun with the songs played by the Erzincan Municipality Military Band, then took their places for the train journey.

Erzincan Governor Mehmet Makas and his wife Elif Makas, Erzincan Mayor Bekir Aksun and his wife Ürküş Aksun, Erzincan Chief Public Prosecutor Dr Ali Öztürk and Deputy Governor Hüseyin Remzi Konak took care of the children who will travel by train and wished them a good journey.

Governor Mehmet Makas gave information about the project; “We are sending our 33 disabled children, together with their parents, on a trip to Kemah and İliç districts by train, in order to have a different day and to show awareness. We hope to present a visual feast to our children. They will visit our districts with their canyons, Euphrates and historical assets. We also have volunteer friends on the train. They will have a fun journey from their clown to the reed masters. We want to give them more joy of life. We know that the biggest obstacle is the one in the heart. Therefore, we can observe that there are no obstacles in their hearts.” said.

Stating that it would be the greatest happiness to give disabled children a good day, the Governor thanked the Erzincan Municipality, İliç District Governorship and İliç Municipality, public institutions, Erzincan Volunteer Youth Association and volunteers who contributed to the realization of this project.

The happiness of the children waving from the train moving on the command of Governor Mehmet Makas was read from their eyes.
