Railway Operator Authorization Regulation Amended

The Regulation on the Amendment of the Railway Operator Authorization Regulation of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure entered into force after being published in the 2nd duplicate issue of the Official Gazette.

Accordingly, railway train operators who have received the authorization certificate will start their activities after installing the safety management systems and receiving the safety certificate within 6 months from the date of receiving the authorization certificate.

Railway train operators, who cannot obtain the safety certificate within the mentioned 6 months, may be given an additional 6 months by examining their applications, if they anticipate that the time required for obtaining the safety certificate will take more than six months.

Those who cannot obtain the safety certificate despite the 6-month additional period given, and those who do not receive the certificate and start train operation within one year, will have their authorization certificates revoked.
