The 5th Nature – Forest Service Award was given to Akseki Ormana People's Fire Solidarity Platform in partnership with the Turkish Foresters Association Western Mediterranean Branch (TODBA) and the Contemporary Life Support Association (ÇYDD).

The Nature-Forest Service Award, which was given for the fifth time this year by ÇYDD Antalya Branches, which are nature-environment partners with TODBA, was addressed within the scope of combating the biggest forest fire that our country has experienced in the past summer months.

TODBA Chairman of the Board Prof. Dr. Tuncay Neyişçi and ÇYDD Chairman Prof. Dr. Ayşe Yüksel, in their joint statement, stated that July 28, 2021 took its place in history as “the day and year when the forest area (80 thousand hectares) burned, more than three times the 60-year average of our country”. In this context, Akseki Ormana People's Fire Solidarity Platform was awarded the 5th Nature-Forest Service Award.

The award was presented to Abdullah Özgüven Foundation President Tolga Özgüven on behalf of Akseki Ormana People's Fire Solidarity Platform. ÇYDD President Prof. Dr. At the award ceremony attended by Ayşe Yüksel, a Ginkgo biloba (temple tree) sapling, known as the tree that challenged the atomic bomb, was planted in memory of Ormana volunteers who challenged the flames.
