The acceptance activities of the national air defense missile system HİSAR O+ have been completed and it is ready for duty with all its elements. President of the Presidency of Defense Industry Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir announced the latest development on his social media accounts with the following statements:

“Our defense industry has achieved another success! Our national air defense missile system HİSAR O+ destroyed the high-speed target at high altitude in the last acceptance shot before entering the inventory. HİSAR O+ is now at full capacity with all its elements. Good luck to our glorious army!”

HİSAR O+ Air Defense Missile System

As the Presidency Defense Industry Presidency Project, it was developed locally and nationally in cooperation with Aselsan-Roketsan. The warhead was developed by TÜBİTAK SAGE. The system, which has 360-degree efficiency, can engage and fire at least 9 targets at the same time. The prevention range of the HİSAR O+ System reaches 25 km.

Capable of operating in all weather conditions, HİSAR is effective against warplanes, helicopters, air-to-ground missiles, cruise missiles and armed/unarmed unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV/SİHA). Designed in accordance with the current needs and threats in our country, which has strategic and critical facilities, HİSAR will be a serious power multiplier in the country's air defense.

Developed with domestic and national resources, the HİSAR O+ System will perform point and regional air defense missions with its distributed and flexible architectural capability. The HİSAR O+ System has an organizational infrastructure in battery and battalion structures. System; It consists of Fire Control Center, Missile Launch System, Medium Altitude Air Defense Radar, Electro Optical System and Infrared Seeker Missile elements.
In the statement made by the Ministry of National Defense, “In the Medium Altitude Air Defense Missile System (HİSAR-O) Project, the unmanned target aircraft was successfully hit with the HİSAR-O Missile firing carried out on 24 December 2021 at the Aksaray Firing Field as part of the inspection and acceptance firings. ” statement was given.

Vice President Fuat Oktay stated that the deliveries of HİSAR O+'s IIR guided missiles would be completed in 2022 in the Presidency's presentation on the 2022 budget to the Parliamentary Plan and Budget Committee. Within the scope of TEKNOFEST'21, it was learned that the acceptance tests of the HİSAR O+ air defense missile system will begin in October 2021. According to the serial production contract for the HİSAR O+ Air Defense System, the delivery of the system is targeted to be completed by 2024.

The HİSAR-O+ system has 18 (3 launcher vehicles) at battery level and 54 (9 launcher vehicles) interceptor missiles at battalion level as standard. The system, which has a fighter jet detection and tracking distance of 40-60 km, can track >60 targets. The system has a maximum range of 25 km with IIR guided missiles and 25-35 km with RF guided missiles.

The HİSAR O+ Air Defense Missile System was able to destroy the high-speed target at high altitude in the last acceptance shot before entering the inventory. Thus, HİSAR O+ has completed its acceptance activities and is ready for duty with all its elements and at full capacity. HİSAR A+ was first delivered to HİSAR air defense missile systems. The long-range air defense system, SİPER, which continues with test firing, is expected to be ready for use in 2023.
