A Highway Underpass Will Be Built to Mürselpaşa Boulevard

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality is going out to tender to create an alternative transportation road that will connect Mürselpaşa Boulevard to the Food Bazaar.

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, which completed the road and junction arrangement works at 32 points in order to reduce the traffic density and congestion and provide uninterrupted and safe traffic flow, and opened a new 122 kilometers long zoning road, rolled up its sleeves to ease the transportation in the Halkapınar region, where the population density of the city has increased, with hospitals and new settlement areas. The Metropolitan Municipality will create an alternative transportation route that will connect Mürselpaşa Boulevard to the Food Bazaar with the highway underpass it will build. Tender for the construction of the underpass will be made on 27 December.

430 meters long

According to the project prepared by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Department of Transportation, the underpass that will connect Mürselpaşa Boulevard in Halkapınar District to the Food Bazaar will be 430 meters long and 35 meters wide. The underpass to be constructed by passing under the İZBAN line with a steel culvert will serve as 2 lanes of arrival and 2 lanes of departure. Soil improvement work will be carried out before the production works. The project, which will start after the completion of the tender process, will be completed in one year.

Access to the Food Bazaar will become easier

When the underpass is completed, direct access to the Food Bazaar, one of the city's important trade centers, will be provided. Entrances and exits to Mürselpaşa Boulevard and Food Bazaar will be relieved, and transportation to the city center will be easier. Traffic congestion will decrease on Mürselpaşa Boulevard, one of the most densely populated areas in İzmir. Izmir Metropolitan Municipality opened a new connection road connecting the side road of Mürselpaşa Boulevard to the Food Bazaar in 2020, and connected the hospital to the main street.
