Karaismailoğlu Gave Information About Ongoing YHT Projects

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu gave information about the ongoing YHT Projects in his speech at the opening of the Ankara-Kayseri Conventional Railway Line. Karaismailoğlu stated that the reform process they started in the railways was the most important move of a strong and great Turkey, and that they built a total of 2003 kilometers of new lines, 1.213 kilometers of which were High Speed ​​​​Train lines, with the railway mobilization started after 2.149.

Karaismailoğlu stated that they are operating on a 12-kilometer railway network today, and that they have overhauled and renewed all of the railways that have been untouched for 803 years.

Expressing that they have increased the signaled lines by 172 percent and the electrified lines by 180 percent in order to increase efficiency and safety in the railway, Karaismailoğlu said, “We have reached 4 percent of the country's population with YHT transportation in 13 provinces in 44 destinations. To date, approximately 69 million passengers have traveled with YHT.” said.

Ongoing YHT projects

Explaining that they have achieved 95 percent physical progress in the infrastructure construction works of the Ankara-Sivas YHT Line, Karaismailoğlu said:

“We started the loading tests in the Balıseyh-Yerköy-Sivas section. Our work continues between Ankara and Baliseyh. When the project is completed, the rail travel time between Ankara and Sivas will decrease from 12 hours to 2 hours. In addition, with our Yerköy-Kayseri High-Speed ​​Train Line, we include 1,5 million citizens of Kayseri on the high-speed train line. We have completed the planning of the double-track, electric and signaled high-speed train line, suitable for 200 km/h, where freight and passenger transportation will be made. Hopefully, we will be in Kayseri on Thursday next week.”

Karaismailoğlu stated that they have achieved 47 percent physical progress in the infrastructure works of the Ankara-İzmir YHT Line, and noted that with this project, they will reduce the railway travel time between Ankara-İzmir from 14 hours to 3,5 hours.

Minister Karaismailoğlu pointed out that when the project is completed, they aim to transport approximately 525 million passengers and 13,5 million tons of cargo per year at a distance of 90 kilometers.

Expressing that they have achieved 82 percent progress in the infrastructure works of the Bursa-Yenişehir-Osmaneli YHT Line, Karaismailoğlu said that they will soon put the Konya-Karaman into operation within the scope of the Konya-Karaman-Ulukışla YHT Line works.

Karaismailoğlu stated that they will complete the Aksaray-Ulukışla-Mersin Yenice YHT Project with a total length of 192 kilometers through external financing, and said, “Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge will once again integrate the two continents with each other by rail transportation. We will continue to invest in railways in order to reduce the logistics cost of the manufacturing sector and increase exports.” he said.
