Emphasizing that they continued the construction of the 4-station line, which will pass through 13 districts, with the use of equity under the conditions of pandemic and economic crisis, İmamoğlu said, “This line was started at the end of 2018 with an allowance received from Iller Bank, but that allowance also ended. We got it completely stopped, at 50 percent. It was waited for a long time, because it had no source. We proceeded with our own resources," he said. Pointing out the difficulty of achieving such works in economic crisis environments, İmamoğlu said, “But we have to achieve the difficult. For whom? For our nation. We act with that sensitivity. Hopefully, by the end of 2022, we want to train this line and bring a very valuable metro line to Istanbulites," he said.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) President Ekrem İmamoğluconducted a test drive on the Dudullu-Bostancı metro line with 4 stations, which will pass through 13 districts. The test drive between Ataşehir Mevlana and Kayışdağı stations, "Come on, good luck. İmamoğlu, who started with the words "I hope he will act with his passengers as soon as possible," said, "The Dudullu-Bostancı line is very important. It is important to go down to the beach in Bostancı. On the one hand, Duduİllu Sanayi connection is a very important line that feeds the urban life of Ümraniye, and from there especially Ataşehir. The fact that it meets the sea and has connected an integrated process from Bostancı by sea will bring great benefits to the Anatolian side. Of course also Kadıköycuts Tavşantepe; that is also an advantage. Therefore, there is a chance to access other lines. It is in a position to easily reach the Göztepe, Ataşehir and Ümraniye lines with a transfer that can intersect. It is very valuable for the Anatolian side," he said.

“WE WORKED WITH OUR OWN RESOURCES”

Sharing the information that the said line started to be built with an appropriation received from Iller Bank at the end of 2018, İmamoğlu said:

“But that allowance is also over. We got it completely stopped, at 50 percent. It took a long time, of course, because it had no source. We proceeded with our own resources. We have allocated a tight equity here. Credit transactions have reached the final stage. With the permission of Allah, we want to wrap up the process regarding the remaining part and present this place to Istanbul residents as soon as possible. We are currently traveling on a metro line at 85 percent level. We want to evaluate the stations very well. E.g; Technology Center is at Kayisdagi Station. We want to turn an indoor area of 1,600 square meters into a technology center there.”

“METRO IS THE ONLY SOLUTION FOR ISTANBUL TRANSPORTATION”

Noting that Yeditepe, Acıbadem and Fenerbahçe Universities are also close to Kayışdağı Station, İmamoğlu said, “Therefore, they are within a distance to establish a close relationship with university students. In other words, it seems that this line will also provide an effective transportation line to several universities. We are happy. We had to do these things in difficult times. We still do it in difficult times. On the one hand, we are in an effort to manage these processes in a period when the pandemic, then a slight fluctuation of the economic crisis process, and today there is more than fluctuation, bubbling. Those who do this work know the difficulty of this. In the environment of such economic crises, it is difficult to really achieve these things. But we have to do the hard work. For whom? For our nation. We act with that sensitivity. Hopefully, by the end of 2022, we want to train this line and bring a very valuable metro line to Istanbulites. Metro is the only solution for Istanbul transportation. Therefore, it is imperative that we work here with all our resources. Let's say, 'May God make it all up'," he said.
