In the new period, İBB affiliate KİPTAŞ, which focuses on quality, unique architecture, environmental and accessible social housing projects suitable for every income group, laid the foundations of 2,5 projects in 6 years. Reminding that they started to work with a painting that could not even enter the tender due to tax debts, KİPTAŞ General Manager Ali Kurt said, “When we took over the company in August 2019, there was only 2 million TL in the safe. The total debt was over TL 1 billion. Today, debts from the past have been paid by the new management. 7 projects that were left unsolved were cleared of all their problems and completed. By the end of 2021, we will have started the construction of a total of 2 independent units with projects to start in 4 more regions.”

Developing housing projects for each income group, KIPTAS, a subsidiary of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), started 6 projects in 6 different regions in the new period. Saying that the foundations of 2021 more projects will be laid before the end of 2, KİPTAŞ General Manager Ali Kurt noted that the number of independent units started will reach a total of 2,5 within 4 years.

ALI KURT: “THE DEBT LOAD OF 1 BILLION TL”

Stating that they encountered a company that could not even enter the tender when they started, Kurt noted that when they took over the company in August 2019, there was only 2 million TL in the safe. He announced that they encountered a debt statement of more than 177 billion TL, which must be paid immediately, including checks that are about to be written and 1 million TL of loan debt to banks.

“LANDS TURNED INTO GREEN AREAS”

Noting that the new management has been working hard to get rid of the debt burden as soon as he took office, Kurt said that for the first time in the company's history, the real estates that he owned and that could not produce projects were sold through public auctions. Noting that these lands were turned into green areas by the IMM Assembly, Kurt continued as follows:

“The new management of KİPTAŞ, who took office, took over the projects consisting of 8 thousand 7 independent units in 815 different regions, which started in the previous period, but no technical, legal and financial problems have been solved and their construction has stopped. One of these is the Zeytinburnu Locamahal Project, which has no title deed, 115 million lira debt to the state, monthly interest payment of over 1 million lira, and 1 million lira monthly rental assistance to the beneficiaries…”

TWO MORE PROJECTS STARTING

Noting that more than 90 percent of the projects carried out by KİPTAŞ in the past were due to the zoning movements carried out by the IMM Assembly, Kurt said, “Today, debts from the past have been paid by the new administration. 7 projects consisting of 7 thousand 99 independent units in 7 regions taken over from the previous administration have been cleared of all their problems. KİPTAŞ laid the foundation of 6 projects consisting of 3 independent units in 574 different regions in its new term. By the end of 6, we will start the social housing project Tuzla Aydınlık Evler and the on-site transformation of Doğakent Sitesi, which has been waiting for a solution for a long time. We will lay the foundations of a total of 2021 independent units," he said.
