Within the scope of the goal of knitting Turkey with a high-speed train network, 95 percent progress has been achieved in the infrastructure works of the Ankara-Sivas YHT Line and 47 percent progress has been made in the Ankara-Izmir High-Speed Train Line, while some projects are approaching the end stage by stage.

In the last 19 years, a total of 220,7 billion liras has been invested in railways. In Turkey, which met with YHT management, 1213 kilometers of YHT line was built. The railway network reached 17 kilometers with an increase of 12 percent. In order to increase efficiency and safety on the railway, signaled lines were increased by 803 percent and electrified lines by 172 percent.
Projects are prioritized in line with the Transport and Logistics Master Plan projections, and work continues without interruption.
Among these lines, 95 percent physical progress has been achieved in the infrastructure works of the Ankara-Sivas YHT Line. Loading tests started in Balıseyh-Yerköy-Sivas section. When the project is completed, the rail travel time on the Ankara-Sivas line will decrease from 12 hours to 2 hours.
13,5 million passengers will be transported annually on the Ankara-İzmir High Speed Train line
47 percent physical progress was achieved in the infrastructure works of the Ankara-İzmir High Speed Train Line. Travel time by rail, which is 14 hours on the Ankara-İzmir line, will be reduced to 3,5 hours. When the project is completed, it is aimed to transport approximately 525 million passengers and 13,5 million tons of cargo per year at a distance of 90 kilometers.
Halkalı-The Kapikule High Speed Train Project constitutes one of the most important links that form the European connection of the part of the Silk Railway route that passes through the country. with the project HalkalıIn the Kapikule (Edirne) section, passenger travel time is planned to be reduced from 4 hours to 1 hour 20 minutes, and freight transport time to be reduced from 6,5 hours to 2 hours 20 minutes.
229 kilometers of three sections Halkalı-The first phase of the Kapikule Project is 153 kilometers long. Çerkezköy-48 percent physical progress was achieved in the construction of the Kapikule section.
The 67-kilometer Ispartakule-Çerkezköy The tender process for the section continues. 9 kilometers Halkalı-Construction work started in Ispartakule section.
82 percent of the infrastructure works of Bursa-Yenişehir-Osmaneli High Speed Train Line have been completed. The superstructure construction of the 106-kilometer Bursa-Yenişehir-Osmaneli High Speed Train Line, which is connected to the Ankara-Istanbul YHT Line, has begun. When the project is completed, transportation between Ankara-Bursa and Bursa-Istanbul will take approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes.
Final tests of the Konya-Karaman section are being carried out on the Konya-Karaman-Ulukışla High Speed Train Line. This section will be opened for business soon.
With the opening of the Karaman-Ulukışla line, where 83 percent physical progress has been achieved in the infrastructure construction works, the transportation in the Konya-Adana section, which takes about 6 hours, will decrease to 2 hours and 20 minutes.
Aksaray-Ulukışla-Yenice High Speed Train Project with a total length of 192 kilometers will be completed through external financing. The capacity needed on the north-south axis of the main freight corridor will thus be provided.
High-speed train works from Mersin to Gaziantep continue
Work continues on the high-speed train line from Mersin to Gaziantep. The construction works in the project, which has a length of 312 kilometers, are progressing in 6 sections. With the project planned to be completed in 2024, the travel time between Adana and Gaziantep will be reduced from 6,5 hours to 2 hours and 15 minutes.
Adapazarı-Gebze-Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge-Istanbul Airport-Halkalı Emphasis is placed on the High Speed Train Project. Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge, which has more than one critical economic value for Turkey, will once again integrate the two continents with railway transportation.
With the Yerköy-Kayseri High Speed Train Line, 1,5 million Kayseri residents will be included in the YHT line. Kayseri, one of the important trade centers of Central Anatolia, will get its share from the YHT mobilization.
In addition to the high-speed train lines, the improvement works on the conventional lines continue uninterruptedly. In this way, passenger and cargo carrying capacity of railways is increased.
Survey project studies continue on the routes determined by considering the railway load and passenger density. The survey project works on a total of 3 thousand 957 kilometers have been completed.
