According to the statement of the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), Chinese astronauts can live and work more comfortably and easily in the orbit of the station thanks to the applications of advanced information technologies.

Giving information about life in space at a press conference held on Friday, China Space Technology Academy Space Station Chief Designer Bai Linhou said that the space station central module Tianhe is equipped with intelligent systems. In this way, astronauts can control the lighting of the central module and kitchen equipment via mobile applications. They can also surf the Internet and talk to their families and friends via video.

On the other hand, Bai also stated that thanks to an audio-visual system, astronauts do not have to work at night and have the opportunity to sleep. Bai added that with an acousto-optic system in the core module, astronauts can sleep at night instead of being on mission.

Tang Hongbo, one of three astronauts on China's Shenzhou-12 crewed mission, said crew members could have a hot meal in about half an hour. Astronauts can sleep more comfortably thanks to a speaker that notifies them if something goes wrong.
