Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu stated that they opened the Nenek-Şefaatli Line Section and the Tüpraş Connection Line Electrification Line to Operation, and that with the completion of the project, the 352-kilometer uninterrupted electric conventional line integrity between Ankara and Kayseri has been established. Underlining that they have increased the share of railways in investments to 48 percent, Karaismailoğlu emphasized that they will increase this share to 2023 percent in 63.

WE HAVE RENEWED THE ENTIRE UNPROFESSIONAL RAILWAYS IN 19 YEARS
Expressing that they renewed all of the railways, which were untouched until 2003, in 19 years, Karaismailoğlu continued as follows:
“We built the high-speed train lines, which is the dream of our nation for half a century, and we are planning new ones. With the railway mobilization that we started after 2003, we built a new line of 213 thousand 2 kilometers, 149 kilometers of which is High Speed Train. Today, we operate on a 12-kilometer railway network. We have overhauled and renewed all of the railways that have been untouched for 803 years. 50 percent of our signaled lines to increase efficiency and safety in the railway; On the other hand, we increased our electric lines by 172 percent. We introduced our country to YHT management, which is our dream of half a century. After the Ankara-Eskişehir high-speed train line, which started service in 180, Ankara-Konya and Ankara-Istanbul lines followed. We delivered YHT transportation to 2009 percent of the country's population with '4 provinces in 13 destinations'. To date, approximately 44 million passengers have traveled with YHT.”
WORK CONTINUES ON THE FIRST LINE OF APPROXIMATELY 4 KM.
Noting that they did not stop the high-speed train works here, Karaismailoğlu said that the works on the first line of approximately 4 thousand kilometers on very important routes all over the country continue. Stating that they have achieved 95 percent physical progress in the infrastructure construction works of the Ankara-Sivas YHT line, Minister of Transport, Karaismailoğlu said, “We started the loading tests in the Balıseyh-Yerköy-Sivas section. Our work continues between Ankara and Baliseyh. When the project is completed, the rail travel time between Ankara and Sivas will decrease from 12 hours to 2 hours. In addition, with our Yerköy-Kayseri High-Speed Train Line, we include 1,5 million citizens of Kayseri on the high-speed train line. We have completed the planning of the double-track, electric and signaled high-speed train line, suitable for 200 km / h, where freight and passenger transportation will be carried out.

Karaismailoğlu said, "We will be in Kayseri on Thursday, December 16, we have a surprise for Kayseri," and underlined that this is a mobilization. Pointing out that another important project is the Ankara-İzmir High Speed Train line, Karaismailoğlu said that they made 47 percent physical progress in infrastructure works. Explaining that with this project, the rail travel time between Ankara and İzmir will be reduced from 14 hours to 3,5 hours, Karaismailoğlu said that when the project is completed, it is aimed to transport approximately 525 million passengers and 13,5 million tons of cargo per year at a distance of 90 kilometers.
HalkalıStating that the Kapikule High Speed Train Project constitutes one of the most important links of the Silk Railway route to Europe, Minister of Transport Karaismailoğlu gave the following information about the ongoing projects:
“With this project; Halkalı- Passenger travel time between Kapikule from 4 hours to 1 hour and 20 minutes; we aim to reduce the load carrying time from 6,5 hours to 2 hours and 20 minutes. We achieved 82 percent physical progress in the infrastructure works of the Bursa-Yenişehir-Osmaneli high-speed train line, which is still under successful construction. Within the scope of the Konya-Karaman-Ulukışla High Speed Train line works, we will soon put the Konya-Karaman into operation. Between Karaman and Ulukışla, we achieved 83 percent physical progress in the infrastructure construction works. With the opening of the line, the distance between Konya and Adana, which is about 6 hours, will decrease to 2 hours and 20 minutes. We will also complete the Aksaray-Ulukışla-Mersin Yenice High Speed Train Project with a total length of 192 kilometers through external financing. Another project on which we attach great importance is Adapazarı-Gebze-Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge-Istanbul Airport-Çatalca-Halkalı High Speed Train Project. Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge, which has more than one critical economic value for Turkey, will once again integrate the two continents with railway transportation. We will continue to invest in railways in order to reduce the logistics cost of the manufacturing sector and increase exports.”
WE WILL INCREASE RAILWAY INVESTMENT SHARE TO 2023 PERCENT IN 63
Expressing that the improvement works on the conventional lines as well as the high-speed train projects carried out with passenger and freight transportation continue uninterruptedly, Karaismailoğlu stated that they have increased the passenger and freight carrying capacity of the railways. Noting that they aim to increase the share of railways in freight transportation to 10 percent in the short term, as stated in the Transport and Logistics Master Plan, Karaismailoğlu said, “Within the scope of our logistics works, we connect our railways to ports and airports. We increased the share of railways in our investments to 48 percent. We will increase it to 2023 percent in 63. I would like to especially remind you that our 2021 freight transport target on railways is 36,5 million tons. We spent 1 billion liras of the 136 trillion 635 billion 222 million liras we spent on transportation and communication investments during the period of our governments," he said.
SIGNAL LINE RATE TO BE INCREASED FROM 65 PERCENT TO 90 PERCENT
Underlining that they continue their determination to make Turkey a logistics superpower with the determined targets, Karaismailoğlu made the following assessments:
“Our compass for our steps is our Transportation Master Plan and Logistics Master plans. We are also aware of the fact that we live in a fast-paced world where transformations take place more rapidly. This situation makes it necessary for us to support each of our plans with both development and new goals at the same time as we implement them. We have drawn the railway vision of Turkey in order to determine which steps will be taken in which term and which steps will be taken until 2071 in particular for the railway. The total length of junction line will be increased to 600 kilometers in order to provide junction line connections to logistics centers, factories, industry, OIZ and ports. A modern customer relationship management model based on passenger satisfaction will be established. Considering the Logistics Master Plan, business models will be developed to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of logistics centers. Rail system vehicles and sub-components will be produced with at least 80 percent domestic and national resources. The rate of rail freight transport in terrestrial transport will be increased to 10 percent in the first stage. The developed 'National Signal System' will be made widespread by making it a brand. The signaled line rate will be increased from 65 percent to 90 percent. With the preparation of the Railway Energy and Climate Change Action Plan, strategies to reduce carbon emissions will be determined and implemented. The length of the railway line will be increased to 21 thousand 130 kilometers in the first stage. TCDD will be the brand that carries the most freight and passengers in Europe. In the long term, increasing the length of the railway line to 28 thousand 590 kilometers has been determined as the prominent targets.”
45 PERCENT OF TCDD LINES HAVE BEEN ELECTRIC
Using the expressions “Whatever we do for our country, it is our duty to leave a more livable, greener, carbon neutral Turkey for our nation”, Karaismailoğlu said that with this awareness, they both increase the benefit obtained from the railways and carry out studies to reduce emissions. Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Karaismailoğlu said, “12 thousand 803 kilometers of all TCDD lines with a total line length of 5 thousand 753 kilometers, ie 45 percent, have been electrified. With the completion of the electrification projects on the conventional lines, which are under construction and project design, we will electrify 2023 percent of the existing conventional lines within the body of TCDD by the end of 50. As we move away from fossil fuels, the increase in electricity consumption has led us to renewable sources for the source of electricity. Our ultimate goal is to transform TCDD into the locomotive of clean energy with environmental projects”.
OUR DREAM; KNITTING ALL FOUR SIDES OF THE NATION WITH A CONTINUOUS RAILWAY LINE
Expressing that they have developed the railways with new investments to support Turkey's logistics superpower claim, Karaismailoğlu emphasized that they have created a sustainable development area with new targets. Underlining that with these studies, they claim to be able to meet all kinds of logistics needs quickly, sustainably, environmentally friendly and at low cost, Karaismailoğlu said:
“We are implementing our plans and investments one by one for our junction lines, logistics centers and ports, not only in the east-west direction, but also in the north-south direction. We will complete the 38-kilometer junction line connecting 34 OIZs, private industrial zones, ports and free zones and 294 production facilities. We will increase the share of the railway in logistics to 45 percent. Our dream; It is to cover the four corners of the country with an uninterrupted railway line.”
TRAINS WILL BE PROVIDED TO REACH THE SOUTH OVER THE BOGAZKOPRU TRIANGLE
Pointing out that this project is 231 kilometers and on a single line, Karaismailoğlu made the following assessments:
“With the completion of the project, we have established the integrity of the 352-kilometer uninterrupted electric conventional line between Ankara and Kayseri. Thus, trains coming from the west will be able to reach the south over the Boğazköprü triangle. With our electrified line accepted today, our total electric line length has reached 5 thousand 931 kilometers. In addition, we will put our 847-kilometer line sections, which are still under construction, into the service of our people in stages. With the electric train operation on the Ankara-Kayseri route, we will increase our locomotive draw between these two cities from 700 tons to 800 tons. In a year, we save 95 million liras from fuel and 11 million liras from emissions. In addition, we will prevent 35 thousand tons of carbon emissions.”

From the metros we built in urban transportation to our High Speed Train lines in intercity transportation, with projects such as Marmaray that increases Turkey's economic power and connects nations and continents, and the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars line, we have moved forward with our country and raised the bar with new projects.
