Alstom is the result of long work with GO Transit, a regional public rail service for Greater Toronto and the Hamilton Region in Ontario, Canada. announced that it has signed an agreement with Metrolinx to overhaul 94 BiLevel commuter wagons.
The value of the contract is approximately 118 million EUR. Refurbishment work on BiLevel series VII cars will take place at Alstom's facility in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. Mid-life overhaul and upgrades of vehicles will take place over a two-year period

What's In The Package?
Updates to the interior will include the installation of updated sockets with USB ports, cosmetic updates to the panels and upholstery, a complete replacement of customer seats, upgrades in the restrooms and service-proven LED lighting.
Extending the life of these buses will allow Metrolinx to have its existing rail fleet available to support service improvements, including the GO Expansion program, with the goal of providing more affordable service for the region.
Cars for the distinctive green and white GO Transit fleet have been built at Alstom's 45-square-foot facility in Alstom's Thunder Bay for over 500.000 years, and the team completed the latest Metrolinx order for 36 BiLevel coaches and accessible cars this summer.
For over 20 years, Alstom has maintained more than a thousand wagon equipment of the GO Transit bus and locomotive fleet.
