It is at the crossroads of both trade and cultural exchanges between Asia and Europe. Adding to all these, its development spanning the years, Tekirdağ continued to maintain its feature of being a city that constantly increased its economic and cultural importance. As the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, we are aware of the importance of every project that will strengthen Tekirdağ's transportation network. With this awareness, we continue our work on the basis of 7/24 service and we are opening the 7-kilometer section between Kandamış-Ortaca Villages within the scope of Hayrabolu-Tekirdağ Road that we have completed and the Muratlı Köprülü Junction Branch on the Tekirdağ Ring Road.

Reminding that they opened the 28-kilometer section from Hayrabolu to Kandamış on 2020 November 13, Karaismailoğlu continued as follows:

“With the completion of the Hayrabolu-Tekirdağ Road, the existing road standard of 2×1 standard and 7 meters wide will become a 2×2 lane BSK paved divided road. The transportation of Tekirdağ and Hayrabolu, which has an important place in agriculture and animal husbandry in our country, will be much more modern, fast and safe. When the entire project is completed, it will be easier for Tekirdağ Port and the industrial zones in the region to reach Kapıkule. The trade volume in the region will increase. Most importantly, our Tekirdağ will add new ones to its socio-economic gains. In addition to all these, travel time in the region will be shortened, the exhaust emissions of vehicles to the environment will be reduced and safer transportation opportunities will be established for our citizens. In addition, we will contribute to the country's economy by saving on road maintenance-operation expenses and reducing fuel and depreciation expenses. While we are always planning one step ahead with the mind of the state, our ultimate goal is; to implement 'Holistic Development' by supporting the national economic independence approach. It is to ensure the well-being of all our people, not only today, but also in the future.”

WE MAKE GIANT INVESTMENTS

THE ENTIRE SEA OF MARMARA WILL BE TURNED BY HIGHWAYS

Emphasizing that when the Malkara-Çanakkale Highway is combined with the completed Istanbul-İzmir Highway and the Northern Marmara Highway, the whole of the Marmara Sea will be surrounded by highways and the Marmara Highway Ring project will be implemented, Karaismailoğlu made the following assessments:

“The routes through which these three highways pass are the highway corridors where there are important industrial and commercial centers such as Istanbul, Bursa, İzmir, Kocaeli and Tekirdağ, where the traffic demand is the highest in both freight and passenger transportation. We have made great progress in the project. On November 13, we placed the last deck of the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge with a ceremony attended by our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Within the scope of highway works; We continue earthworks, engineering structures and superstructure works on the 100-kilometer section between Malkara Junction and Umurbey Junction, which is the beginning of the project. So far, we have completed 2 reinforced concrete approach viaducts, 2 reinforced concrete viaducts, 6 hydraulic bridges, 5 underpass bridges, 40 overpasses, 40 underpasses, 228 culverts and 11 intersections. We are working day and night with approximately 5 personnel and 100 construction machines, and we are successfully continuing the construction work so that our project will be put into service before March 740, 18.”
