University Students Examine the Rize-Artvin Airport Construction

Students studying at Eurasia University, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Department of Civil Engineering in Trabzon, visited Rize-Artvin Airport, which is in the final stage of construction, with a technical trip.

Civil Engineering Department Lect. See. Regarding the technical trip, Abdullah Bostancı said, “The most important place in our region where we will observe the practices on-site with our students is the Rize-Artvin Airport, which has reached the final stage in its construction. The students, who received information about how the infrastructure of the newly built airport was built using ships, the properties of the blocks used and the runway coating, from the geological engineer Arif Berber, saw their theoretical knowledge in production. Rize-Artvin Airport will be the second sea-fill airport in Turkey and Europe, after Ordu-Giresun Airport. With this feature, it was one of the areas that our students were most curious about. We were all excited to see this important investment in place. It is very important for our students to see how their education is applied in the field.”
