You may know hundreds of people who start the weight loss process with great enthusiasm and give up before they are halfway through. Maybe that person could be you too. Eating habits are changed, sports are started, but the weight loss process progresses very slowly or may have stopped. Sümeyye Peker, one of the Dietitians of Adatıp Istanbul Hospital, stated that the mistakes made while focusing only on the diet process and trying to reach the ideal weight can bring you more harm than good, and listed the most common diet mistakes as follows;

Do not focus on losing a lot of weight in a short time. Most of the weight lost in a short time will be from muscle tissue and body water. Muscle loss will slow down your metabolism and cause you to lose weight more difficult in the future. Do not eat with very low calories. In order for the body to burn fat, it must be fed within a certain calorie range. Eating less than the target calories can stress the body and cause it to protect itself. This will lead to the preservation of adipose tissue, as opposed to fat loss.

Don't punish yourself after getaways. Such practices can distort your perception of nutrition and subsequently develop eating disorders. When you go out of your diet and continue from where you left off the next day, it will provide you with healthier results in the long run.

Do not constantly detox. Detoxes should be applied in the presence of edema or when resistance is encountered with weight, otherwise it will slow down your metabolism.

Do not unconsciously consume “Diet Flavors”. You have come across many recipes under the title of fit recipes. Although fit recipes are lighter than other recipes, they have a certain amount of calories. For this reason, they should be consumed in a controlled manner by paying attention to their portions and frequency.
