Zarova Bridge was opened with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu, Zarova Bridge; Noting that Siirt will provide safe transportation with Eruh and Şırnak, he said that the transportation between Siirt and Eruh will decrease to 43 minutes when the bridge is put into service.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu spoke at the opening of the Zarova Bridge; “We see our bridge at the Zarova Stream crossing of the Siirt-Eruh Road, which is under construction, as a golden ring attached to our road line. Due to the flooding of the Ilısu Dam, we redesigned the Siirt-Eruh transportation. In 6,5, we crossed the Botan Stream on the new 50,5-kilometer route, 57 kilometers of which are divided roads and 2008 kilometers of which are single roads, with the Botan Bridge. Today, we cross the Zarova Stream, which is on the same route, with the Zarova Bridge.”
WE WILL SAVE A TOTAL OF 16,4 MILLION LIRA ANNUALLY
Stating that they have completed the surface coating of the 56,2-kilometer section of the Siirt-Eruh road, Karaismailoğlu noted that the work on the landslide sections continues intensively. Emphasizing that they plan to open the road in 2024, Karaismailoğlu continued as follows:
“Our 355 meters long and 15 meters wide Zarova Bridge; It will provide safe transportation to Siirt with Eruh and Şırnak. We built our bridge with 5 spans and a height of 67 meters. Our bridge, which we built with seismic isolators as earthquake resistant, has 1,5 separate walking paths of 2 meters each. The transportation between Siirt and Eruh, which takes 54 minutes over the old road, will decrease to 43 minutes when our bridge is put into service. In this way; We will save 10,1 million liras annually, 6,3 million liras from time and 16,4 million liras from fuel. We aim to reduce the annual exhaust emission of our Zarova Bridge by 2 thousand 487 tons.”
WE HAVE INVESTED OVER 3 BILLION 673 MILLION TL IN TRANSPORTATION AND COMMUNICATIONS IN SİİRT
Stating that they invested over 3 billion 673 million liras for transportation and communication investments in Siirt during the AK Party Governments, Minister of Transport Karaismailoğlu said, “We have increased the length of the divided road across the province from 7 kilometers to 129 kilometers, and the length of the bituminous hot-paved road from 2 kilometers to 82 kilometers. While the amount of investment made for the highways of Siirt between 1993 and 2002 was only 66 million TL, we increased this investment 52 times to 3 billion 493 million TL. The total cost of our ongoing 9 different highway projects in Siirt exceeds 2 billion 785 million liras.
ROADS BRING LIFE TO THE PLACES THROUGH IT LIKE RIVER
Karaismailoğlu said, “In all our transportation and communication investments, we cross the impassable mountains with tunnels, deep valleys with bridges and viaducts” and added that the roads add vitality to the places they pass just like rivers.
