How to get a Red Flag?

In order to receive the Red Flag, a written application is first made to the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Social Projects Department. The committee, which is determined among the members of the commission, examines the place on site and evaluates it according to criteria such as ramps, horizontal circulation, vertical circulation, orientation and signs, and presents a report to the commission. The commission makes its decision based on the accessibility features of the area. The positive decision becomes final after the approval of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Council and the relevant venue is entitled to receive the Red Flag. The Red Flag is awarded in three categories: 1, 2 and 3 stars. One star is awarded to areas that meet 60% of the accessibility criteria, 2 stars 75% and 3 stars meet at least 90% of the accessibility criteria.
