The “Independence 100 Stamp and Seal Design Competition Exhibition”, organized in honor of the 100th anniversary of the adoption of the Turkish National Anthem, was opened to visitors at the PTT Stamp Museum. The exhibition can be visited until January 5, 2022.

Emphasizing that they proudly undertake the task of witnessing history and keeping it alive in addition to the activities they carry out, Tok said: “Our Stamp Museum plays an important role in fulfilling this task. In our museum, which was built with neo-classical architecture and designed with a modern museology understanding; We have a rich collection of world stamps besides the Ottoman, Anatolian Government and Turkish Republic periods. We shed light on history with the fields of “Post from Past to Present”, “PTT in the War of Independence” and “Nostalgic PTT”.

Noting that they are proud of Hacettepe University, which has brought qualified graduates to our country with its 55-year history full of success, Tok said, “We are happy to see that our history and our values, to which we are deeply attached, are protected with the beauty of art, and that an immortal trust is left to future generations. The exhibition prepared by Hacettepe University, which makes us feel this happiness, will continue until January 5, 2022 in our PTT Stamp Museum.

Noting that stamps are a reflection of culture and that each stamp expresses a touch of art, Hacettepe University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Serper said, “It is the pride of our university to reflect our Struggle for Independence, to generate ideas with science and art, and to add the signature of Hacettepe University to the design of the postage stamps, which are a very important step in communication and each of which has a separate story.” Serper thanked the PTT Family for hosting this meaningful exhibition and serving his country selflessly for 181 years.
